Fishing
Belize has been featured in many top saltwater fishing magazines due to the high quality fishing that can be experienced here, whether it be sports fishing, angling, fly fishing or light tackle.

Permit, bonefish, tarpon, and snook are the main catches of flats fishing. Flats fishing can be enjoyed just 10-20 mins from the Ambergris Caye. Deepwater/reef fishing brings catches such as wahoo, dolphin, bonito, king fish, tuna, grouper, sharks, barracuda and the fisherman's dream catch - the magnificent sailfish.

Most types of fish can be caught throughout the year, but there are designated fishing seasons for creatures such as the lobster and conch.

The casual fisherman can be content to fish right from one of the Island docks, or from a boat just off the beach in deeper waters.
